2017 National Truck Driver Appreciation Week

The official National Truck Driver Appreciation week, “when America takes the time to honor all professional truck drivers for their hard work and commitment in tackling one of our economy’s most demanding and important jobs,” may be over (it was September 10-16, 2017), but the spirit of truck driver appreciation is still in the air!

In fact, there are a variety of truck driver appreciation days taking place in the month of October 2017. Want to attend a truck driver appreciation event near you? Simply scroll through the following list to see if one will be on your route or in your area.

If you’ll be in the Stony Creek, Virginia area, and you still have questions or concerns about the upcoming ELD mandate, be sure to make a stop at the Davis Travel Center. Along with all that the Davis Travel Center is offering as part of the event, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) will be onsite both days (from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.) to talk with attendees about ELD implementation, to answer questions about ELDs, to provide helpful materials on ELD implementation, and to let attendees know about other FMCSA programs and initiatives.

>> ELD Presentation at the FMCSA Tent or via Live Webcast
On both October 11th and 12th, stop by the FMCSA tent at the Davis Travel Center from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. EST for a special, driver-focused ELD presentation on ELD implementation. If you’re able to attend in person, you’ll be able to ask questions and learn more about ELD compliance, ELD exemptions, the differences between AOBRD and ELDs, and how to make sure you’re compliant by the December 18, 2017 deadline. If you can’t make it to the Davis Travel Center on those days or times, however, you still have a chance to watch the ELD presentation and ask your ELD questions — live. Simply tune into the live webcast on October 11th from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m EST and submit your questions via the live webcast link.

Thank You, Truck Drivers!
Thank you to the 3.5 million professional truck drivers for doing what you do to deliver America. Without you, we all wouldn’t have such easy access to goods like food, fuel, medicine, furniture, clothing, and so much more. As a driver, you are the heart of the trucking industry, and we hope that at least one of these fall trucking events — and many more to come in the future — help you celebrate all that you do for America.
